Collège Churchill High School UNESCO Club Advocates for Food Security Awareness
The Collège Churchill High School UNESCO Club, with the support of teachers Roxana Bray, Adam Masi, Ryan Weins, and Kylie Hoydalo, recently concluded a successful Food Security Awareness Month. This series of initiatives aimed to educate students about the importance of healthy eating and the challenges of food insecurity.
Throughout November, the club organized various activities to raise awareness:
  • Weekly Healthy Snacks: Students enjoyed a variety of nutritious snacks, including bannock, muffins, and pancakes, prepared by club members.
  • Community Food Donations:  The local community generously donated healthy food items like jams, muffins, and bread, which were used to support the weekly snack program.
By participating in these events, students gained a deeper understanding of food security issues and their impact on individuals and communities. The club extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative.
