Nursery children must be 4 years old by Dec 31, 2024 (born in the year 2020)

Kindergarten children must be 5 years old by Dec 31, 2024 (born in the year 2019). 

After advocating for families and expressing the confusion of having some schools close their nursery programs and others keeping them open, the school division has reconsidered and we will be able to offer nursery at our school next year. 

If you have children of nursery age that you would like to register, please do so as soon as possible. 

There is an issue with re-opening nursery however with not having daycare spaces to accommodate the nursery students. As many of you are aware, the new daycare building is still under construction and if everything stays on track is expected to be ready by end of October 2024. There are also renovations being done on the daycare space inside the building that will be taking place during the summer. This work is slated to be complete by the end of September. This means that the number of daycare spaces are limited and have already been allocated to current students. Space for new nursery students will not be available until construction is complete in both the new building and the renovated spaces. School age space is not guaranteed even if the child has a space in nursery or kindergarten due to the number of school age students coming in at grade 1 and those going out at grade 6.

Students living within Winnipeg School Division are encouraged to attend a school within their catchment area. 

The priority for acceptance is as follows:

• 1^st priority: Living in the school catchment area. You can find your catchment area school by using the "Find a School App" on the attached link.  Find a school
• 2^nd priority: Living in the school division (but outside of the catchment area) and having a sibling currently attending the school.
• 3^rd priority: Living in the school division (but outside of the catchment area). 
• 4^th priority: Living outside of Winnipeg School Division and having a sibling currently attending the school. 
• 5^th priority: Living outside of Winnipeg School Division.
