Mois de J'aime lire! I love to read month!

Thanks to our amazing library technician, Mme Ginette, we have had an amazing "J'aime lire" month. There were activities each week that were fun and meaningful to the kids.

Feb 3-7: Decorate your door with the title pages of your favorite books

Feb 10-14: After reading the book "Au coeur des mots", students were encouraged to write kind words or messages around a big heart

Feb 18-21: Festival stories

Feb 24-28: Pyjama Party in the library. The library was turned into a night time camping experience where there was a galaxy light and night time nature sounds. Students could use flashlights to read in the dark in "tents".

Other fun activities:

Book displays in the library: Black History month books, Festival du Voyageur books, Kindness/Love/Inclusion books. Teachers read many of these books to their classes.

Book battles: Students voted for their favorite book each week in a "battle" between two books.

Book recommendations: students were encouraged to use post-it notes to put up book recommendations for their peers. 

Guest readers: We had some guest readers for the whole school as well as guest readers in classrooms.

Surprise exchange: Students will choose their library books on their book exchange day, but just before leaving the library, they will switch their book with a classmate to diversify their reading genres.
