Principal's Message

Welcome to Principal Sparling School!

Principal Sparling School is a Nursery to Grade 6 Elementary School with 190 students. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood in the West End of Winnipeg.  We provide all students with opportunities to achieve academic excellence and social responsibility in a safe, supportive, and challenging environment.  We offer experiences, both in and out of the classroom to promote understanding, self-discipline, and independence.  We ensure a setting where children are accepted with their varied abilities, strengths and backgrounds.  We provide an environment that fosters and creates responsible, respectful, independent and caring citizens. 

We offer Music, daily Physical Education and STEAM activities to enhance everyday experiences for children. Our school offers a wide range of extra curricular activities such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, fit run and ultimate football.  We offer noon hour clubs, such as, ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) and Indigenous Drum Club.  

Monthly newsletters are sent home electronically, on Classroom SeeSaw accounts and on our school website.  The multiple communication platforms enable our community to stay informed with school events and highlights. 

I would like to extend a warm welcome to our returning students and families, I hope your summer holidays were restful and fun.  A big welcome to our new students and families, who have joined our incredible Principal Sparling Community.  We look forward to working with you this school year. 

To our dedicated teachers and staff, I extend my gratitude for your unwavering commitment to our students’ well-being and academic excellence.  

I look forward to getting to know each of you better, to hearing your ideas and aspirations for our school, and to working collaboratively to make those dreams a reality. My office door is always open, and I welcome your input and feedback. Thank you to all the families who participated in the “1st Day Barbecue” event. We hope to provide this opening day celebration every year, so please mark it on your calendar for next September.
