Parenting

Our mission is to enable our students to not only complete their personal and educational goals, but also to work with their children in age appropriate settings that stimulate their social, cognitive, physical and emotional growth.  Our childcare staff work with our young parents and provide guidance and mentoring.  We believe that the first five years of a child's life are crucial in their development.  

Pre-Natal

Many of our students begin their journey at APC while they are pregnant.  We offer pre-natal support for our parents-to-be through our Public Health Nurse.

Child Minding

At the Adolescent Parent Centre, we offer child minding for our students during the school day. We have 2 child minding centers where Child Development Lab Assistants work with our young parents. 

Infant & Crawler: Ages 2 months to 18 months

In the Infant & Crawler Centre, children are nurtured in their development. We provide a safe environment where children are encouraged to explore and discover their gifts. Music and movement are used daily to help children reach their developmental milestones.          

Toddler & Walker: Ages 18 months to 3 years

In the Toddler & Walker Centre, children are encouraged to move and learn freely by engaging in activities that interest them.  We provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can explore and choose from a wide variety of toys/activities, and utilize numerous play structures.  Both fine and large motor skills are developed.  In addition, some time is also dedicated to short activities that require the children to work on their concentration and social skills. 

Children over the age of 3:

For children over the age of 3, the school will work with the parent(s) to find age appropriate daycare.
