Koats For Kids

Koats for Kids collects and distributes, free of charge, gently-used winter outerwear to Winnipeg families. The program runs from October through February. On average, 10,000 requests are received for winter outerwear each year. Once the coats have been cleaned, they are distributed across Winnipeg. Since 1989, over 100,000 winter outerwear items have been distributed.

Parents can submit orders to Koats for Kids by contacting the school or daycare their child or children are enrolled. Orders can also be placed through a United Way agency partner. The following information is required for all Koats for Kids orders:

1. First and last name of parent or legal guardian.

2. Telephone number where parent/guardian can be reached.

3. Child’s gender and size.

4. Name and address of school (Faraday School, 405 Parr Street), daycare or agency partner where coats will be picked up by parent/guardian.
