Learning Support Team Room 137

One of the support teams here at Robertson are the Learning Support Teachers (LS), Ms Marnie, Ms Nicole, and Ms Kjear, located in room 137. 

 

Role of a Learning Support Teacher

As part of the LS team, our goal is to support staff, students and families to feel safe and cared about in an inclusive environment. We plan to help create and implement programming for students by working collaboratively, as well as teaching alongside the classroom teachers. We will be working with school clinicians, Physio and Occupational therapists as well as Student Support Services within the division in planning for student success. We are available to support families and students to access resources and to assist in developing a sense of belonging & social-emotional needs.

In October, we will meet with families to review and further develop each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We feel it is very important for families to be an active participant in this process. IEPs will be reported on 3 times yearly aligning with the Provincial Report Card. 

 

We look forward to working with the students and their families at Robertson School.
