Mrs. Black

March 7, 2025

February was jam packed with I Love To Read month, Black History month AND Indigenous Story telling month. Our class went on a field trip to the Aviation Museum and learned all about how Gliders can glide through the air and how axles make our wheels move! We had so much fun and cannot wait for our next field trip next month. In English Language Arts, we have been focusing on digraphs, those tricky combination of two letters representing one sound. We have also began exploring “Kamishibai” a Japanese way of telling a story by creating a “paper theatre” and is an exciting way to learn about different traditions around the world and a new way of being read to. In Social Studies we are learning about the Totem Poles and the stories they tell us. Stay tuned for the artists in our room to reveal their stories that they have created by connecting symbols that are important to them. Mrs. Black had 14 apples, gave 3 away to Mr. Correia, 2 to Mr. A and 2 to Mrs. Anj, how many apples do I have now? In Mathematics we have been working on solving word problems with addition and subtraction! Take a look at some of the fun we have had this past month!
