Mr. Macdonell

October 1, 2024

September has flown by, and I am so excited for a full year of learning with all the students in our classroom. We have spent quite a bit of time creating our learning environment, developing good habits, and learning more about one another.

In Math we have been looking at place value, and in October we will begin examining number patterns. In Science and Social Studies, we have been looking at habitats, learning what it means to be a part of a community, and have been reviewing the provinces and capital cities of Canada.

We have been focusing on our reading and comprehension in English Language Arts and have begun a study of the novel Holes by Louis Sachar. On top of this, students are asked to read independently at home, and they should be keeping their reading logs up to date.
