Mr. Kussin

March is here and we all know what that means; spring is in the air! I am sure that we are all hoping that the warmer weather will be here soon so that we can spend more time outside. During this month we will continue working on improving our writing skills by expanding our writing to more than one paragraph on a topic and make our way to persuasive writing. In Social Studies, we will begin looking at the Second World War and how it affected life on the home front and work our way to stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and persecution and their effects on people and society which will then lead us into the Holocaust. In Math, we will continue improving our multiplication and division skills and reinforce what we have learned about factors, multiples, prime and composite numbers. The systems of the human body continue to be a topic of interest, and I am really looking forward to seeing how the class will demonstrate what they have learned! As always, talk to your children about what they are learning and doing in class. The more involved the parents and guardians, the more successful the student. I look forward to meeting all of you at the parent-teacher student conferences.
