Mr. Kussin

October 1, 2024

During the month of September, we have been spending time getting to know each other and establishing the routines that provide a positive, productive and healthy learning environment. The students are responding well to these expectations.

We have begun learning about angles. We are learning about the different types of angles, how to recognize and draw/represent them and incorporate what we have learned about angles artistically. We will be learning how to measure and draw/represent angles accurately using a protractor. Eventually we will tie in angles to other geometric concepts involving triangles and quadrilaterals.

We have also been looking at how to write sentences that express a complete thought which will help us understand how to write a proper paragraph. We have been working on the geography of Canada by identifying and properly labelling the provinces, territories and major bodies of water within and surrounding Canada and we have begun our investigation of our solar system. As you can tell, the past few weeks have been busy!

Several studies have shown that supportive parents/guardians are crucial to the level of success a student experience. We are looking forward to a very rewarding academic year!
